Are you interested in bringing IKMF kettlebell sport to your community?
IKMF Canada is actively partnering with gyms and event organizers across the country to grow the sport and create more accessible qualification pathways for Canadian athletes.
Whether you’re hosting a small local meet or a larger competition, your event can play a vital role in developing IKMF Canada’s national team.
To apply for official sanctioning as an IKMF Canada Qualifying Event, event organizers must:
Submit an Event Sanction Application
Ensure at least one certified IKMF judge is present
Commit to following IKMF Canada rules and qualification guidelines
To support the growth of kettlebell sport in Canada, IKMF Canada has waived all event sanction fees for the 2025 calendar year.
Our priority is to build a strong national network and strengthen connections within the kettlebell community. As such, any event that applies for sanctioning in 2025 will not be charged a sanction fee—even if the event itself takes place in early 2026.
We encourage gyms and organizers across the country to take advantage of this opportunity to host official IKMF Canada qualifying events and help expand the sport’s reach.
Please Note:
In order for any athlete performances to be officially recognized for IKMF Canada for team qualification, the event must be sanctioned in advance by IKMF Canada.
If your event is not sanctioned prior to taking place, IKMF and IKMF Canada will not recognize any in-person lifts for qualification purposes and reserve the right to decline any athlete applications submitted from that event.
This ensures fairness, consistent judging standards, and athlete accountability across all qualifying events.
If you’re unsure whether your event qualifies or need help starting the process, please reach out to us at ikmfcan@gmail.com before your event date.
